Piller’s UPS Efficiencies Power into the Energy Technology List

UPS Systems - Uninterruptible Power Supplies - Rotary UPS Systems

Pller UPS

Several more of Piller’s latest-generation rotary UPS products, the UNIBLOCK™ UBT+ have recently gained accreditation and listing under a key UK Government scheme which promotes the adoption of "best in class" energy efficient technologies and products.

The Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) Scheme is an initiative set up by the Department of Energy and Climate Change in conjunction with HMRC to support the UK Government's commitment to protecting the environment through the reduction of carbon emissions.

Under the ECA Scheme, companies that choose to use listed products receive a financial benefit in recognition of their investment in best-in-class energy efficient products. The scope of technologies covered by the Scheme is diverse and includes a category for Uninterruptible Power Supplies.

Piller now has six products listed, ranging from 400 to 800kVA in combination with batteries or a PowerBridge™ flywheel energy storage, achieving in certain cases operational efficiencies in excess of 97% at full load. Over the coming months Piller will be working towards submitting the entire UNIBLOCK UBT+ product range and the UNIBLOCK UBTD+ diesel rotary UPS, for inclusion in the ETL listing. Having the entire range listed will ensure that the company can fully contribute to the global drive for improvement in operational efficiencies through the use of reliable and resilient solutions that are able to offer both a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and a reduction of impact on the environment.
