Bells Power - 20 Gresham Street

Diesel Generators - Generator Sets - Power Generation - Generator Systems

Bells Bank

Hermes Real Estate secured a long term lease with Standard Bank on a new build in London in 2008/2009. Part of this premium lease agreement is to provide back up power supplies for the building in the event of a mains power failure. The FG Wilson generator sets were made available immediately for delivery to site which offered to bring forward the lease 3 months from previously envisaged by the client therefore improving their forecasted income revenue.

Equipment:
3 x 2000KVA FG Wilson diesel generator sets, 11kv fitted with Perkins 4016TAG2A diesel engines coupled to Newage Stamford 11,000 volts alternators. The diesel generator sets were installed into a bespoke shared plant room with the tight constraints set by the consultants and architects. The enclosure was designed to achieve 77dba @ 1 metre with the sets running (N+1).

Controls:
The site has 2 x 11kv ring mains supplied into the building which needed to be controlled and operated by the Allen Bradley dual/hot standby plc system to synchronize the operation of the generator sets on a mains failure a ‘break’ return to mains basis.
