Daikin UK - New Commercial Director Appointed to Head up Heating & Renewables Division

Heat Pumps - Heating Systems - Air Conditioning - Climate Control

Daikin Dave Lacey

Daikin UK has appointed Dave Lacey as Commercial Director of its heating and renewables division, with a view to consolidating its position within the heat pump and renewables market as well as expanding sales of ancillary products.

The UK’s energy supply is currently undergoing a radical change, requiring 15% of the nation’s energy to come from renewables by 2020 and this appointment has been made to take advantage of the broadening renewable marketplace.

Dave has worked in the heating industry for almost 35 years, having begun his career as an apprentice with British Gas and moving on to spend 25 years with a major heating manufacturer. He has had diverse experience within the heating industry, covering private domestic installations, social housing and new build, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the market and customer requirements.

When accepting this appointment, Dave Lacey said: “I am delighted to join Daikin UK at such an exciting time during the development of the renewables market. I believe that there is a huge opportunity for leading suppliers with quality products to meet the rigorous demands of the UK heating market. We are totally focussed on providing innovative solutions utilising our high quality renewable products and ancillary equipment to fully meet our customers’ requirements and provide them with excellent customer service and market leading solutions.”

The heating and renewables division at Daikin UK, which has expanded rapidly over recent years, encompasses air-to-water heat pumps where it is already a market leader with its established Daikin Altherma and Rotex brands, known for their quality and reliability.

Daikin UK products are well suited to the UK domestic market and include Daikin Altherma Low Temperature and High Temperature Split air-to-water heat pumps, as well as Daikin Altherma Monobloc and Flex systems. The Daikin Altherma range of air-to-water heat pumps currently holds a leading share of this market, with 180,000 units already having been sold across Europe to date.

In addition to heat pumps the division also offers pressurised and drain-back solar thermal systems, a gas fired compact DHW storage unit ready equipped for solar use, underfloor heating, thermal stores and hot water cylinders.

Renewable heating products should be installed by suitably qualified MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) registered installers. Training on all Daikin products can be arranged through the heating and renewables team.
