Polyflor Classroom Floor

Leading Polyflor ranges Pearlazzo PUR and Polysafe Modena PUR have been specified and installed in a £3.2m new build development at Holy Cross College in Bury, Lancashire. A total of 2000m² was installed throughout the three storey teaching facility by Stockport based HVB Flooring Services Ltd.

‘Providing a high quality learning environment for our students is extremely important to us and with the effective use of design and colour across the Pearlazzo and Polysafe Modena ranges we achieved this’ commented Peter Woods, Vice Principal of the College.

Specified for circulation and classroom areas, Pearlazzo PUR delivers the inherent low maintenance and durability benefits expected of a Polyflor homogeneous PUR product while pushing the boundaries of vinyl flooring decoration. The striking 24-shade colour palette, a combination of vibrant and neutral shades, has been achieved by blending tonal chips and pearlescent flakes fused into a solid base colour for a unique decorative option.

Peter Woods continued ‘Environmental considerations have been a prominent issue in this new build project where we aimed to achieve no less than a BREEAM very good rating. We chose Polyflor as the ranges are A+ rated and 100% recyclable via Recofloor, the industry leading recycling scheme’.

Polysafe Modena PUR was the safety floor of choice for the project. Combining all the tried and tested Polysafe credentials with the look of a smooth decorative floor, Modena PUR was specified in both classroom and toilet areas. The inclusion of clear aluminium oxide within the vinyl ensures that Polysafe Modena PUR is fully compliant with HSE and UK Slip Resistance Group Guidelines, achieving 36+ in the Pendulum wet test and a surface roughness of 20 microns and above. Importantly Polysafe Modena also meets the EN13845 50,000 cycles abrasion test, a key indicator of sustainable wet slip resistance. As with all Polysafe ranges, the slip resistance of Polysafe Modena PUR is assured for the guaranteed life of the product.

The appeal of all 14 shades in the collection is protected by Polysafe’s class-leading cross-linked and UV cured PUR maintenance enhancement, to enable optimum appearance levels and lifecycle maintenance cost savings of up to 60%.
