Elbagate - EAE Busbar at Canary Wharf Cross Rail Station

Busbar Trunking - Busbar Systems - Power Busbars - Lighting Distribution

Elbagate Canary Wharf Station

Elbagate Ltd, the UK partner of EAE Elektrik, have recently supplied high power busbar trunking for the Canary Wharf Crossrail Station Project.

Canary Wharf station will be one of the largest on the Crossrail network and is being constructed within the North Dock of West India Quay. The station ‘box’ is nearly as big as the tower of One Canada Square laid on its side. Above the station box Canary Wharf Group are developing four levels of retail space.

All EAE Elektrik E-Line busbar ranges are approved by London Underground Ltd (LUL) for use on ‘subsurface’ installations.

The busbar has been installed by M&E Contractors Briggs and Forrester (Engineering Services). The consultant is Arup working with Canary Wharf Contractors Ltd.

The EAE KXA Range is being used to provide links between the transformers and switchboards, and switchboard to switchboard links. The busbar used is KXA sandwich construction busbar rated at 4000A with aluminium conductors. Aluminium conductors makes the busbar much lighter to transport and install, as well as giving major cost advantages over copper conductors.

The KXA range is available in ratings from 630A to 6300A, with either aluminium or copper conductors. The KXA range has been used extensively throughout the UK in all sectors of the market including factories, airports, hospitals, and data centres, in both in horizontal installations, and vertically as rising mains.
