Siemens Sword of Honour

The Siemens Building Technologies division has been awarded the prestigious Sword of Honour for the second year running by the British Safety Council. The accolade, which recognises the company’s ongoing commitment to health and safety management, is regarded as one of the industry’s most coveted titles.

The Sword of Honour is only open to organisations which have achieved the maximum rating in the British Safety Council’s five star health and safety management audit. In addition, entrants are required to demonstrate a culture of best practice for health and safety throughout the organisation.

The Champions Award scheme is just one of the initiatives employed by the Siemens Building Technologies division to maintain high levels of health and safety management. This encourages employees to suggest solutions to potential health and safety risks in return for an award. This encourages staff at all levels to evaluate their working environment and has led to a number of simple yet effective changes such as adapting the on-site drink dispensers to prevent possible injuries.

Dave Pickles, UK Managing Director for the Siemens Building Technologies division, commented: “Winning the Sword of Honour for a second year is a great achievement and demonstrates our commitment to maintaining the highest possible health and safety standards for all employees. This title is testimony to the hard work, time and effort of the whole team, who continually strive for excellence in all areas of our business.

“We have a culture of ‘Zero Harm’ within the Siemens Building Technologies division, and we hope this award and our ongoing progress in health and safety management will encourage other organisations to adopt a similar approach.”

The Siemens Building Technologies division is the world leader in the market for safe and energy-efficient buildings and infrastructures. This includes building automation, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, fire protection and security. For more information please email below:
