Dunham-Bush Specified for Commonwealth Games 2014

Radiant Panels - Trench Heating - Fan Coils - Fan Convectors

Dunham Sports Arena

When Glasgow were announced as the hosts of the 2014 Commonweath Games organisers were inspired to fulfil their promises of regeneration and legacy. A brand new indoor sports arena and velodrome were required, with the east end of Glasgow chosen as the site of the new development.

Large open areas, high ceilings and full height glazed walls proved to be a challenge where comfort air conditioning is concerned. Dunham-Bush worked closely with the consultant to achieve the desired goals, using a combination of Dunham-Strip radiant panels and Hydrocource curved trench heating.

In total, an estimated 0.5Km of Dunham-Strip radiant panels, 25 meters of Dunham-Bush Evolution Radiant Panels, 50 meters of curved Hydrocourse Trench Heating and 50 Dunham-Bush Fan Coil Units were specified for the arena, admin, press and hospitality areas.

Consultant: Arup, South Queensferry

Contractor: SPIE Matthew Hall, Glasgow
