Leading bathroom manufacturer, Twyford Bathrooms has expressed its delight at the news of the Bathroom Manufacturing Association’s (BMA) recent double award win for the ground-breaking Water Label.

Within the space of just two days, Yvonne Orgill, chief executive of the BMA took home the much-coveted ‘outstanding achievement award’ at the kbb review Awards and the organisation also won the ’business innovation’ award at the Sentinel Business Awards.

Both wins were in tribute to the Water Label; a revolutionary scheme allowing consumers to compare hundreds of products that meet up to the standards of the industry, for water efficiency, in a bid to help the nation become more water-wise. Launched in the UK in 2007, with the support of key suppliers such as Twyford Bathrooms, the scheme has proven such a success it is now planned to be rolled out to 27 European countries. The entire labelling scheme has over 2,500 products with 200 of them registered Europe wide.

John Blackburn, Managing Director of Twyford Bathrooms comments: “Having been heavily involved with the Water Label scheme from the very beginning, as one of the first partners going as far back as 2007, it is fantastic to see it recognised in this way and we would like to send our warm congratulations to the BMA.”

He adds: “The water efficiency issue is growing rapidly. This is reflected in our demand at Twyford Bathrooms, for example, we are now exporting our water efficient products as far as Africa as more countries look to make the most of their increasingly limited water sources.”

“As such, together as an industry, we have a duty of care to provide the tools and solutions to enable consumers to optimise their water efficiency, with the Water Label playing an imperative part in this. By working together, we can help pave the way for a more water-wise future for Britain.”

Twyford Bathrooms was the first company to launch an ultra-efficient 4/2.6L dual flush toilet in 2007 under the unique Flushwise® brand, as listed with the scheme. Today, Twyford Bathrooms supplies a large number of water-efficient products under the Water Label covering toilets, taps and baths.
